Hortgro is inviting applications for its comprehensive bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. This opportunity is open to South African citizens who have completed or are in Matric and intend to pursue undergraduate studies in critical agricultural fields at a recognised tertiary institution. The bursary covers a wide range of disciplines including Agri-Management, Agricultural Biotechnology, Economics, Science, Entomology, Horticulture, and Soil and Water Science. Successful recipients are expected to provide academic updates, maintain good conduct, attend Hortgro events, and work with a mentor. Applications must be submitted online by the closing date of 15 August 2025.

Bursary Expectations
Bursary recipients are expected to:
- Provide quarterly updates to Hortgro on academic progress and well-being
- Submit semester results
- Maintain good conduct during their studies
- Attend Hortgro events and functions
- Maintain satisfactory performance to renew the bursary each year
- Work with a mentor provided by Hortgro
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric or currently be in Matric
- Be pursuing or intending to pursue a qualification in one of the listed fields
- Be registered or intending to register at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa
- Meet the admission requirements for the selected course
