The Volkswagen Group Africa (VWGA) Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year is now accepting applications from high-achieving South African citizens. This comprehensive bursary aims to address critical skills shortages by providing full financial support for approved undergraduate qualifications at accredited tertiary institutions. The funding covers tuition, registration, accommodation, meals, books, stationery, and includes a study laptop, vacation work, mentorship, and development support. In return, recipients have a work-back obligation at VWGA. Eligible fields of study include various Engineering disciplines, Marketing, Science & Technology, Logistics & Supply Chain, and Finance & Business. Minimum requirements include a 70% average for Grade 12 applicants or a 65% average for current tertiary students. The application deadline is 14:00 on Friday, 19 September 2025.
The bursary is open to full-time students studying towards approved qualifications at DHET/CHE accredited tertiary institutions in South Africa.

About the VWGA Bursary
The bursary aims to address South Africa’s skills shortage by supporting academically strong youth. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive funding and career support, including:

- Additional study support if required
- A laptop for study purposes
Work-back obligation: Bursary recipients are required to work back at VWGA for the equivalent number of years funded.

- Engineering: Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering
- Marketing: Marketing, BCom Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing & Communication
- Science & Technology: Quality, Polymer Technology
- Logistics & Supply Chain: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, BCom Logistics & Transport
- Finance & Business: BCom Finance, Bachelor of Accounting Science, BCom Strategy Development/Management
Note: This bursary is not open to Masters or Doctoral students.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Registered for full-time undergraduate studies in 2026 at an accredited institution
- Academic performance:
- Grade 12 (Matric): Bachelor’s Pass with a minimum average of 70%
- Tertiary students: Minimum average of 65%
- Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups in line with VWGA’s transformation and Employment Equity objectives
