The Schauenburg Education Trust invites applications for its 2026 bursary programme from Black South African citizens. The bursary supports undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Business Administration, and Business Management at the University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, North-West University (Vanderbijlpark), and the University of the Witwatersrand. Applicants must be entering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year in 2026, have a strong academic record, and demonstrate financial need. The award provides partial or full coverage for registration, tuition, textbooks, accommodation, and a living allowance. A mandatory requirement is completing at least 3 weeks of vacation work at Schauenburg. Preference is given to Black female students, those under 35, and students with disabilities. About the Schauenburg Education Trust Bursary Programme 2026

Schauenburg (Pty) Ltd, a leader in mine safety technology and communication systems, funds this bursary through the Schauenburg Education Trust to promote socioeconomic transformation by supporting Black South African students in the fields of Engineering and Commerce.

Fields of Study Covered

Bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate studies in the following fields at these selected universities:University of Pretoria (UP), University of Johannesburg (UJ), North-West University (Vanderbijlpark), and University of the Witwatersrand (WITS):

  • Electrical Engineering (BSc / BEng)
  • Electronic Engineering (BSc / BEng)
  • Business Administration (BCom)
  • Business Management (BCom)

What the Bursary Covers

The bursary provides either partial or full cover for:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition and examination fees
  • Prescribed textbooks and course materials
  • Accommodation and a living allowance

Vacation Work Requirement: Recipients must complete a minimum of 3 weeks vacation work or job shadowing at Schauenburg Systems during mid-year university holidays.

  • Have completed Matric
  • Be studying full-time at one of the specified universities
  • Be entering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study in 2026
  • Have passed all registered university courses with good academic standing
  • NOT be receiving any other bursary for 2026
  • Preference will be given to:
  • Black female students
  • Black students under 35 years
  • Black students with disabilities
